Help With Remodeling An Old, Tiny Bathroom?

This bathroom sucks! It is so tiny! And the decor is mint green and pink tiles. Anyone know of any websites to help with removing the tile and how to put of something different? I want a more contemporary look, but simple.

Once you remove the tiles, use WHITE paint on the walls – it will make the room appear bigger. I’ve got a TINY bathroom too and it’s all done in black and white. You should have a pedestal sink (if possible) as it will give the illusion of space. I have some great linoleum on the floor of my small bathroom that is a large black and white check (looks like tile, but it’s cheaper than tile). Your tub, toilet and sink should all be white too (if not already) – once again the illusion of space. Keep the decor simple – just a few pictures on the walls and any knick knacks should be kept to a minimum as well. Keep decor in a small scale too – no LARGE knick knacks or pictures, etc. If you’ve got a window or windows in there, be sure to let in as much light from them as possible. Don’t shut out the natural light (if there is any).

One of the first suggestions is get rid of the bathroom cabinets. They only take up room and invite clutter. And no one stores towels in the bathroom. That invites damp and mildew. Throw out your old handbasin and cabinet and get a new freestanding handbasin. They take up much less room and look much more contemporary. Tiles are easy to remove — check at your hardware store for the best tool (which will depend on the size of the tile) and then head for the paint charts for a horizon-expanding solid color that will make your room appear larger.
